If you have any semblance left of any feelings that I’m not completely lame, I wish you would stop reading here…
Мой жених (my fiancé) and I have decided to pretend get married in May of 2014. I don’t know how to say “pretend fiancé” in Russian yet (I’m sure this is not a common expression in Russia!). 2013 won’t work because it has “13” in it which is unlucky and 2012 won’t work because it is a leap year and that is unlucky also. It seems like many Russians are very superstitious. Either that or he wants to put off the pretend marriage as long as possible!
The budget will be unlimited because it’s a pretend wedding. Just let me know if you would like to be invited and I will add you to the guest list, haha. Location of pretend wedding? Not yet decided. Милый мой (my dear) suggested that we get married in a mosque (He’s so silly) and I suggested the beach. We have agreed that I will stay home and clean (sigh) and cook (I’ll have to learn) and kiss him on the cheek every night when he gets home from work (such a good wifey!). I might be glad to be at home to avoid the cold out in Moscow! I suppose later I will have to pop out a few babies. For a boy’s name I like Илья (Elijah) and for a girl’s name I like Наталья (Natalie), though Солнышко моё (my sunshine) thinks it’s too early to think of baby names.
But I haven’t done much planning beyond picking this dress:
I have plenty of time since the pretend wedding is over two years from now and my Russian will probably run away to Malaysia before then! Машенька (That’s me!) will be very sad!
I will keep you updated though I’m sure you don’t care, haha! (Should I just change the name of this blog to my online adventures??)
